Personal Care Find - Sweatblock
Can a product really help you stop perspiring for 7 DAYS?
I was as doubtful as some of you who just read that first sentence, but it seems, ladies and gentlemen, there is one, and it"s called SweatBlock.
SweatBlock safely and effectively treats excessive sweating with a simple, once-a-week application.
So, how exactly does SweatBlock do that, you ask?
SweatBlock is a liquid formula, soaked on a soft, cotton pad wipe. The way the product is able to work for seven days is that during the night when your sweat glands are less active, SweatBlock forms a block in your sweat glands that will last a week. It will not wash off, it does not leave a film, and you won’t even know it’s there. SweatBlock is formulated to block the sweat glands, protect against irritation, and soothe your skin.
On Monday evenings, before bedtime, I opened one of the pouches and dabbed (do not rub it!) on my underarms, then laid down to let dry for 5 minutes as directed, and then go to bed. That"s IT! In the morning I was able to shower, etc, and didn"t have to think about it. I experienced no skin irratation, itching, or redness during the test period. Note: There was a fairly strong metallic-like scent from the wipe when I first applied, which went away after the formula had dried.
2 days after my initial application I was, in fact, dry - even on sweltering days. ( I did still use perfumed "deodorant" for fragrance, as this is listed as OK by the manufacturer). After day 4 I was simply amazed that I was still dry under my arms. True to it"s claim, I did not feel any moisture until exactly day seven - the following Monday. On that evening I repeated the entire process and tested for an additional week just to see if the first one was a fluke - and it preformed beautifully again. I was dry all day- every day, for 7 days.
This is absolutely a must have for your travel bag as it will cut down the amount of products you need to pack for personal care! During the summer this is also indespensible to keep cool and dry.
Important Note! This product must be used as directed in order to be effective. That means you will need to read all of the instructions very carefully and follow them to the letter. If you do, you will be very happy! :) -RLB

Are the Glory Days at T&T Over?
I shop at T&T on Cherry St. at least 3 times a week. Maybe that"s inefficient grocery planning but I just can"t get enough of the store and love to pop by for some cheap salmon, discounted sushi, fresh bok choy, 2 for 1 specials on enoki mushrooms and a host of other goodies at prices and quality unmatched by conventional grocery stores.
But this morning news came that Loblaw has acquired the 17 store chain for $225 million. A great move for Canada"s grocery giant to be sure, but will this signal the beginning of the end for the much loved T&T?

Hollow Man
To create this "Hollow Man" all you would need is fence, protective gloves and wire cutters. This chicken mesh wire is quite easy to shape and stands up on its own. Shaping shouldn"t be much difficult; once its done you can place it in your garden and put some lights (weather proof) around it.

Managing Loan Modification Processing
Are you unable to pay your mortgage payments or get late in making the loan payments? Do not worry; you can get your loan modified. The best part is that you can yourself process your
loan modification.
Steps to loan modification processing
The first thing that you need to keep in mind is that never ignore the lender’s phone calls or letters. This will only push you into deeper trouble.
- Have the required documents ready with you for reference. You need to keep with you the property tax statement, mortgage statement, homeowner’s insurance statement, car loan as well as insurance statement, other loan and insurance statements, and also credit card statements. Other documents that you must be able to show include medical and life insurance statement, cell phone statement, bank statements, hardship documents and pay stubs.
- The next step will be to create a hardship letter and financial statement. Remember, that the financial statement is the most important document that the lender will be asking for. The financial statement must be filled out correctly and completely.
- You need to call the servicer’s loss mitigation department. Your servicer is not the one who got you the loan, but the one who collects and processes your payments. You need to ask for a loan modification. Remember, having no income will not help loan modification processing.
- When you correspond with your lender, it’s safe to record all your communication with the bank, servicer’s loss mitigation department and other representatives. Record all the correspondence as there may be errors on the lender’s part.
- A loan modification requires 1 month or 2 months to get approved. By the time you get the loan modification approval, you will be able to save money for a modified loan.
Be calm and at the same time persistent when you are dealing with the lenders. The process is not very easy. You need to be consistent even when there is bad customer service and mistakes on the bank’s part.

Silk Drapery Fabric – All about the Royal Fabric
Silk is referred to as a lifestyle fabric, which represents refinement and grace. Silk has always been the choice of the royal people for adorning their courts and palaces. It is in fact a mystery, as to how such a small creature like a caterpillar can be the creator of such a high profile and sophisticated fabric. When it comes to home décor silk is inevitably the best choice for drapery since it is the strongest natural fiber. Silk has the ability to easily blend with fabrics like cotton, linen and rayon.
Silk draperies of different colors, textures, and patterns
Silk draperies are available in different colors, textures and designs. Embroidered silk adorns the formal occasions like wedding and other such social gatherings perfectly while the taffeta silk drapes lend a touch of extravagance and sophistication. Simultaneously, Chinese or Babylon silk is also a great decoration choice for different ceremonies. Dupioni silk is another variety which is best suited for the subdued look.
Silk draperies can be obtained in different colors and they complement your home décor perfectly.
Taking care of silk draperies
Silk draperies are dirt and mold resistant and can be used for a prolonged period of time. They also act as excellent insulators by keeping the house warm during winters and cool during the summer season. To achieve the desired regal look for your home, you have to mix and match the silk draperies.
However, you need to maintain silk draperies nicely so that they do not lose their luster and glow. Silk draperies need to be dry cleaned instead of being hand washed. You must not use a washing machine while trying to wash a silk material as it might lose its luster and become crumpled. A little care in using the silk draperies can give the desired majestic look to your home.

Is sacking people unethical?
With all the layoffs going on, it's worth asking whether managers ever ponder the ethical implications of what they're doing.
As the self-styled "ethics guy" Bruce Weinstein
says, sacking people is an ethical issue because it impinges on the rights of others. ""No matter how strong the justifications for reducing the workforce are or seem to be, laying off loyal and productive employees is an upsetting experience for all concerned, and those on the receiving end face not just financial but psychological injury," he says. "Getting laid off compromises all of these things so managers should think of downsizing as a deep and painful trauma for those being let go, and not as a mere setback or reversal of fortune."
That means managers have to do it in a way that protects the dignity of the person getting sacked. He says they need to do it in person, not over the phone or by email, they need to ensure privacy is protected and they should also be honest without being brutal.
As
New York Times blogger Randy Cohen says, redundancies have to have an ethical dimension. "Mass layoffs relegate people to the status of disposable objects," Cohen writes. "A company can mothball its welding robots (although I hear the new models can wake themselves up and contact some kind of killer robots of the future who will travel back in time and terminate us all). But people are not machines. Many ethical systems mandate that you do not treat a person like a thing. You must regard other people as full human beings with the same moral rights as you. And that must include the right to make a living."
The fundamental problem is that mass sackings are always reactive, responding to massive shifts in the economy. Not a lot of thought goes into the ethics.
The question is what can be to change this?

Still standing
It was with a mixture of heartache and dread that I watched the weather forecasts call for rain in the Roundrock area as the last week passed. On Saturday and Sunday, I looked at the radar maps showing rainstorms directly over my part of the county. I had hoped that the dry week meant the man I spoke with would have had the chance to get out there to do the repair work to the dam and spillway, but he hadn’t called me, and I suspected that he hadn’t done the work yet.
We decided to go out to Roundrock on Monday to see what there was to see. I hoped we would see a repaired dam and a widened, re-directed spillway. I feared we would see a breached dam and an empty lake bed.
We didn’t see either.
What we saw was the status quo. Nothing had changed in the week we were away. The drive down was ominous though. We passed through several storms; the fields were flooded; the rivers were swollen. But the closer we got to Roundrock, the less rain appeared to have fallen. Certainly the woods were wet, and the tall grass we had to wade through in places soaked our pants, but overall it didn’t seem that the really heavy rains had fallen in the area in the preceding week.
The lake was down about half a foot, attributable to those leaks I used to loathe. I suspect that more water was drained off but that the rains that did fall had replenished some of what was lost. Even so, the leaks seem to have prevented the dam-topping flood I feared all week.
I had also worried (I seem to do that a lot) that when the man did come out with his big machines to push the dirt back up on the dam, he might not be able to see the valve cover or the valve drain outlet. He might bury them with all of the dirt he moved, or worse, he might break them by driving over them, causing an unstoppable draining of the lake. Thus my plan was to mark these two “delicate” parts of the dam so that he couldn’t miss them.
You see the fruits of my work above. I took this photo across the inland sea that is the pecan plantation these days. I hadn’t thought to take a picture of the two posts at the time I finished driving them into the ground, and by the time I “waded” across the soggy acre and remembered it, I wasn’t about to “wade” back again for a better shot.
What you see is the dam rising in the background. The exposed dirt in the top left corner is the eroding spillway. The exposed dirt in the top right corner is the eroding dam. The post on the right marks where the valve cover lies mostly buried in the flowing earth. The post on the left is just a best guess of where the outlet of the drain pipe is. We couldn’t find it. I think it is buried by the rocks and dirt that have washed off the dam. We dug for a while, in several places, looking for the pipe but never found it. So I drove the post in about where I thought it was, and a man on a dozer should be able to steer around the general area and miss the pipe (wherever it may be).
Had I been able to open the valve cover, and had I been able to open the valve, it might have been fun to see the water pressure bursting from the end of the pipe explode all of the rocks and dirt before it. But the ground we were standing on when we pounded the stakes quaked like jelly, and I had no intention of lying on my stomach in that muck to lean down into a buried barrel and reach for a valve that might not even open. Sigh.

Take Better Wedding Photographs
One of the most fulfilling photo experiences I ever had took place years ago when I took pictures at a close friend's wedding.
The couple had a professional photographer, so I wasn't under any pressure to produce perfect pictures, but I was determined to do a good job as a matter of personal pride.
Well, whether or not my results would be categorized as "good", the pictures, and slides, yes it was that long ago, were fawned over and genuinely pleased the bride and groom.
That was my intended goal and I derived great satisfaction over the fact that the new couple treasured my pictures as much as the pro's.
So, here are a pair of websites where you can
learn to take better wedding pictures which will help you
improve all your photographic efforts.
Take a camera with you whenever possible, and look around, you'll find a picture somewhere.
